So, I was told that I needed to find a good rep

I have been doing all the sales myself and it is killing me. I am a soft touch - I don't have the stones to be a real "Closer". I can admit it.

I own an advertising/marketing/design agency that specializes in the financial industry. We have been around for over 26 years and have a pretty good reputation. We are strictly B2B and since we deal with banks and CUs, we rarely exceed 30-day terms. Most of my sales come from referral or the website requests for information. Average sale on basic services for the year is around $200,000k to $300,000 a year (wehave a few that are larger and a few that are smaller).

Recently we launched a new product that has been getting a good response (10% sales close on cold calling). It is a high volume product and seems to be an easy sell. We are also about to launch a new product that should do even better than that. The commissions are pretty generous. Our in house team is making about $3k to $5k on 2 hours of phone calls a day. The problem is that I have my designers on the phone when they should be designing.

I talked to a collegue - she owns another agency - and she told me that she has reps in Texas and LA and the east coast. She has even stolen a client from me (first time that has ever happened). So she told me what I needed to do but not how to do it. I thought I would start here to see if anyone here had any suggestions.

I am a dummy with a question.

I have a marketing and advertising agency with a few employees. We specialize in the financial industry (banks and credit unions) but we have a pretty broad portfolio and 25 years of experience.

I had to come to terms with the fact that I suck at sales. I am good in sales meeting, I can charm the prospect and give them all the information - I just never seem to close the sale.

I talked to some other agency owners (competitors) who told me that they have commission based sales reps that they contract with. This sounds like the solution to my problems. However I am having the worst time finding the right sales person.

Our commissions range from 10% to 15% depending on how much work we have to do to help the agent. If they are a self starter super sales maniac, they can get that 15%. Our typical client contract is anywhere from $50,000 a year to $300,000 a year. Potential income is incredible. We also have 2 unique "Plug and Chug" products that are pretty easy to sell. These have the same sales commissions butare quicker and easier to sell. They also have a smaller pricetag so the income from them is smaller, but since they are easier to sell, the agent would make it up in volume.

I dont know if my commission structure is to high or too low. I just know i need help and I figured that this is the only place I could go to get some honest feedback. We have websites and marketing materials - we are just missing that "Face Person" that can do the legwork and make us all more successful.

Help me please. I want to give this opportunity to the right folks who will make the most of it but I don't want to rip anyone off and I dont want to short change myself either.

NEW! Tribe Review: Human Resource Management

"Human Resource Management (HRM) is a strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organisation's most VALUED assert - the people working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of its goals" (Armstrong, 1999)

As a student of business and HRM for over 10 years, I firmly believe, an organisations most important asset rests with its people. People far out weigh any other resource. If the people potential is tapped into, and used in the right way, it can be of immense benefit both for the organisation and its people.

This is a forum for HR professionals, students, researchers and lecturers to discuss all aspects of Human Resource Management (HRM). Feel free to post your views or critiques on theories, concepts, models, policies, processes, practices, activities of HRM. Maybe you are a HRM professional and found something that’s worked in your organisation? Maybe you've studied a particular concept/theory and you want to share your views on that? Maybe you have your own theory? - Feel free to discuss because through discussion we all learn something.

chain letter invitation

Greetings, this is a -=-chain-letter-=- with great potential. !!!REALLY!!! Read it all the way through, we could all come out on top if we do it right.

THIS IS NOT SPAM! it is a friendly, invitational =-=-=-=-Chain-Letter-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

if you are offended by receiving this invitation just delete it and be done with it. please e-mail me at oktoberphoenix@yahoo.com if you require further retribution.
**************************************************************************************

There is no limit to the prosperity you could enjoy from this one letter. If you follow the instructions, you will reach thousands of people and could have as much as $20,000 dollars or even more in your PayPal account within a few weeks (just bear with me, I promise this is not a scam, is completely legal and is in no way affiliated with any company).

***** Honesty, faith and integrity make this letter work. *****

Here are the step-by-step instructions :

Step 1.

you will need a PayPal account, Anyone with an e-mail address can join for FREE.If you're not already a PayPal user, the first thing you need to do is sign up for PayPal here

www.paypal.com

(this letter is in no way affiliated with pay-pal. pay-pal is simply a free/ on-line money ex-change sevice.)

Step 2.

send the top name on the list below (1st person) $5.00 through PayPal’s send money feature. DON'T FORGET to include "Please add me to your list." This is important as it keeps the program legal.

Send the other $5.00 dollars and an e-mail stating "Thank you. I've joined" to the 5th name on the list.

Step 3.

copy this whole page and paste it (in "note-pad", "word", etc.) to edit it.

Step 4.

Remove the top name from the list, bump the other 4 names up one place each and Place your e-mail adress in the bottom slot (Make sure it's the same e-mail address that you used to open your PayPal account, for this is the way you will receive payment)

Step 5.

Now that you have paid the 1st person and 5th person and sent them both an email, a note, and placed your e-mail address in the 5th place, then what you need to do is post your letter. You can post on craigslist.org, message boards and newsgroups (there are thousands), and you can even send in an email to your email list. IT IS YOUR JOB AS THE 5TH PERSON ON THE LIST TO ENSURE THERE ARE AT LEAST 20 "THANK YOU. I'VE JOINED" replies. The fifth person is the guardian of the system! If there are not at least 20 replies then the fifth person will keep sending/posting the letter until there is.

Thats it. Its that simple.

************* HERE IS THE LIST: ***************************

1. trustfundgirl@verizon.net
2. vsatexas@juno.com
3. myeverquest@msn.com
4. greyskull76@hotmail.com
5. chaotinomicon@yahoo.com

*************************************************************

If you do this the way it was designed, it will reach thousands by the time your name gets to the top.

MAKE SURE YOU SEND $5 DOLLARS TO THE FIRST PERSON TO THANK THEM FOR WHEN THEY WERE THE GUARDIAN OF THE LETTER AND $5 DOLLARS TO THE FIFTH PERSON SO MORE EMAILS CONTINUE TO GO OUT!

Now the fun happens. We reap what we sow. Other people will see your posting and do the exact same thing, bringing you lots and lots of dollars!!
Seriously, its common sense. You do it and 25 or more people see and do the same thing, so on and so forth, everyone wins!

You will receive thanks AND THE SAME BLESSING. When your name is on the 1st slot, 8,000 to 15,000 people will send you 5 dollars! Keep in mind the most you spent is $10 DOLLARS! (Remember this: what goes around comes around!)

Please give it an honest effort, you will not be disappointed and will be very glad you did when it starts to work. Remember, all you are going to be out of pocket is about the cost of a couple of coffees with the opportunity of banking thousands of dollars into your PayPal account!

Live long and Prosper

******************************************************

I'd like to find out what books, ezines, trade magazine, etc each of you would recommend.

I've found Jeffry Gitomer's "Little REd Book of Selling - 12.5 Principles of Sales Greatness" to be very concise and helpful as a tool.
"Legal Insurance"...the next best thing...

I work for Pre-Paid Legal Services, and I noticed that among the big "earners" for PPL are college students and young professionals. There are many documented examples of students and sales professionals who have made substantial income from the simple premise that "legal insurance" can do as much (and maybe more than) for members as medical/health insurance.

Check out this 32-year old NYSE-listed company at www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/philipyan or email me at philip.yan@charter.net.

Less expensive that flyers or brochures to advertise in my comic book series

Dear folks -

Maybe your product or someone you know?

I'm going a limited print on demand imprint series of 300 minimum and 600 maximum of issue #1 of HEROES IN BIRMINGHAM a comic book series featuring costumed crime-fighting adventurers in a near-future, alternate universe setting.

There's a free preview of 17 out of 32 pages from issue #1 up on my website, as well as a production schedule.

www.bestfriendsproductions.com/hib/contents.htm

I really want to have this imprint ready to be sold starting in April 2005 through May 15 2005 -- but I need 4-color print ads.

Inside cover ads, quarter page, are as little as .30 for multiple imprints (in three issues) or for a single imprint .37 x 300 to start. That's less than flyers, brochures and post-cards at that quantity and the eyeballs are persistant. Plus people share comics and show comics to others... and the inside cover ads actually get more views than the comic books story itself!

This imprint will be available over the internet, but a good 1/3 to 2/3 will be sold in New York, New Jersey and Penn. at conventions, directly from the creators.

Half page and full page ads also available at limited quantity. A full page ad is 6"x9" for the inside cover and full bleed for the outside cover that's like 6.75 by 10.24 or so. I'll get you exact measurements if you're interested in the outside cover... which I obviously have to sell for more than the inside cover spaces.

Issue #1 has one and half inside cover spaces. Issue #2 and 3 has two full inside cover spaces. But as you can tell, I'm willing to break it up.

Enjoy the website!

Have any of you attended sales seminars? If so, have you found them helpful? If so, any recommendations?

Is the alternative of just hard work and lots of calls/contacts the best way to go. I would think that saminars and classes would make one more efficient, however, I do not know anyone in my firm who has ever attended one. Opinions...

Just wanted to take a second and introduce myself. My name is Dallas and I am currently working for a Wholesale Meat Distributor in the Deli division. I am still kind of new to the position. Only been a rep since July. The holiday were depressing with the shortages, misships, miscommunications and the like. I am hoping to met others in similar industries to bounce ideas and questions off of. The company I work for offer very little in training other then make sure you make a profit unless we need to get rid of it.

Thanks for giving the a read. Hope to get know several of you soon.

In real estate we refer to calling strangers as "cold calling" and calling people we have reason to call or have referrals to or leads on "warm calling". Any insights, anecdotes or warnings to share? The new "don't call" laws, have they affected you?

In my business most of my business comes through referral, though I also pick up clients just being friendly in the grocery store or the mechanics shop. How about you? Do any of you get all your clients off the internet? Phone soliciting, mailings? Newspaper advertising? ???

Need money for an investment?, or Home?
Are You a REALTOR? Mortgage broker, Investor?

NATION'S 5TH LARGEST PRIVATE LENDER NOW HAS
AND INCREDIBLE 1.25% MORTGAGE!

CASH FLOW ARM
Gives you 4 options every month for the way you will make your payment.

1. Pay it as if it were a 1.25% mortgage.
use the almost 50% cash savings for investing,
paying off credit cards and other debts.

2. Pay it as if it were an interest only mortgage

3. Pay it as if it was a 15 yr mortgage

5. Pay it as if it were a regular 30 yr ARM.

Have you ever been in a bind one month on your personal mortgage?
If you had the Cash Flow ARM you could use option #1 and pay
about half of what your normally would.

Mortgage money is low interest money. Credit cards are high interest money. Use the extra cash from your payments to pay off your credit cards. You'll be in a much better financial position. When your cards are paid off, make regular payments, or one of the other options.

NOW YOU CAN BECOME A LOAN OFFICER FOR THIS LENDER.
Just write out a disclosure form to your buyer that you will be earning a commission on the mortgage, and be in total control of your deal.

No more waiting for the loan company to call you back. No more waiting to see if the buyer will actually VISIT the bank.

At contract signing, just ask them to sit down at your computer and fill out a 16 question form. Click submit, and your buyer's loan will be taken care of by the lender.

AND YOU EARN 35% of 1 POINT FOR THE FIRST 5 LOANS YOU SUBMIT, 45% of 1 point for the next 5 loans, and 60% of 1 Point for every loan thereafter. That's $600-$1200 on an average $200,000 mortgage.

REALTOR'S COMMISSION ADVANCE LOAN BASED ON SIGNED AND EXECUTED CONTRACT!!

Gifts for New Homeowners (coupons? referrals?)

I get people into homes, I'm a mortgage lender/broker (see http://www.RogerV.com )

I'm looking for gifts for clients as a welcome package, e.g. coupons/discounts on lawn mowing, furniture, restaurants, toys, flowers, you name it. Tends to be 30-something couples with 1-2 kids, but it varies.

Any sales pro's that would like some new customers? Area ranges, but mostly the northern half of LA.

Thanks!
