I am currently in Indonesia working on starting up an export business for leather furniture(chair & ottoman sets, storage cubes, headboards, ect.) Could any of you give me advice on finding wholesale buyers on the west coast of America?

Re: Finding Wholesale Buyers?
Sat, November 26, 2005 - 4:36 PMHi!
First define your market a bit more clearly. When you say wholesale buyers, what exactly do you mean? Are you trying to find smaller Specialty Niche Retailers who carry furniture? Are you trying to find the larger furniture dealers? What volume are you thinking? What are your price points? Who do you see as the end consumer? Why is it important to only reach the west coast?
Some ways to reach buyers:
a. Hire a company like mine (we do New Customer Acquisition in the form of call outs for Manufacturers to the Specialty Retail Market).
b. Go to trade shows. I recommend the SF Gift Show, Oasis, etc.
c. Work with the distribution tiers. This may be hard if you are the middle man, since they do have some brutal minimums.
If you are thinking (a) and you would like to talk to me about it. (Or even if you are thinking b and c, and you would like some free advice), please feel free to call me.
